Earlier this month at Universo Ferrari’s world premiere event located on the grounds of the legendary Fiorano circuit in Modena Italy, two Incredible new drop-top Ferraris were introduced: The Ferrari 812 GTS which earns the title of Ferrari’s most powerful convertible ever and the F8 Spider which sports Ferrari’s award-winning twin-turbo V8 plus a few additional horses.
Ferrari 812 GTS
The Ferrari 812 GTS marks the triumphant return of the legendary front-mounted V12 convertible after a 50-year hiatus since the introduction of the 1969 365 GTS4 “Daytona Spider”. This new drop-top was developed from the 812 Superfast with the goal of retaining the exhilarating feeling of speed and power delivered by the berlinetta version but with the added luxury and comfort of allowing occupants to bask in the unique soundtrack of the naturally-aspirated V12. The Ferrari engineers accomplished this feat by integrating a retractable hardtop, which does not impinge upon the interior dimensions, thus maintaining the donor car’s roomy cockpit. Although, one notable deviation is the re-designed rear section highlighted by two buttresses which were designed to visually embody a sense of forward thrust and lend a signature look that would set the spider apart from the berlinetta.

Ferrari F8 Spider
As in traditional Ferrari fashion, the F8 Spider was designed with the goal of outperforming its predecessor. This was quite a challenge considering the greatness of the 488 Spider, but after implementing technical advancements from Ferrari’s racing experience the legendary 488 Pista, Ferrari engineers managed to squeeze an additional 50 cv from the award-winning twin-turbo V8 engine and cut 20 kg from the entire vehicle. Mate these performance advancements with a retractable hardtop that takes just 14 seconds to deploy and the F8 Spider sets a new benchmark for the open-air sports car in terms of usable performance and exceptional handling, whilst providing an incredibly rewarding driving experience.
